Cathy, Dan and Laura,
My thoughts are with you. Sid and all of you have been an inspiration for me. Tomorrow, I will begin driving West to begin a new chapter of my life working at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. I am moving back to the West to be closer to my family and friends there. When I was in the process of contemplating the wisdom of making yet another cross country move, Sid's words in this journal spoke to me of the importance of love and family and--don't wait life is so precious.

Cathy and family -
So sorry for your loss. The world will shine a little less brighter without Dr. Bacon but, through his fight, he has inspired us all to live life to the fullest and enjoy every minute. He was truly an inspiration and all-around wonderful guy! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Cathy, Dan, and Laura, I was so sad to read of Sid's passing. The four of you have helped create a powerful legacy for Sid. The lessons learned while facing this last great challenge that he chronicled so faithfully will remind all of us of what is truly important in life and how to live life with intention, grace and love. The devotion that you showed to each other has already touched and inspired so many who walked this journey with you in spirit. I am so sorry to hear of Sid's passing. These past months have been a journey and a fight, not only for him, but for all of you. He was truly an inspiration to all who have been following his journey. May his strength and courage continue to guide you during these next few days, weeks, months. Cathy and family,
Sid is an amazing guy, and his spirit will be with me always. I first got to know Sid when we were navigating ASL on the Downtown Phoenix campus, and I admired the deftness with which he handled complex emotions. But it was when we connected over our desire to have a Dodge Dart Slant Six that I knew we were kindred spirits, always and forever.
