Cathy, Dan and Liz and Laura, words are so useless at a time like this. Please know that I am among the zillions of people who have learned so much about dying with dignity from Sid. He was a special person who gave to his family, his friends, his students and his colleagues more than he knew. His life, well lived to the end, was remarkable. Bill Petuskey The world shifts September 17, 2013
 
The world shifts every time a person like Sid passes on. He was a gentle soul whose inner strength, warmth and integrity were to be admired and emulated. He was always one to help and to look for ways to help. A teacher and dear colleague to the end. He led a meaningful life as he had influenced mine. 

My heart goes out to Cathy and the kids.

Dear Mrs. Bacon, Dan and Laura,

Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for your loss. Sid was everything good that you hope others would be too. I always feel very fortunate for the time I was able to serve him in CLAS. I will keep you all in my prayers and may you always know how much we loved, respected and admired him.

Dear Cathy, Laura, Dan and Liz,

We are so sorry to learn of Sid's passing. From the time we first met him, we knew that he was a fine human being of the highest integrity. Working with him under very difficult conditions for three years only served to reinforce our initial impression. While it may be hard for us to fathom the depth of your loss, please know how much we appreciate Sid and the care he received from many people, but most of all, you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
