Very, very sad news. Sid was a true friend, and I will miss him very much. Sid Bacon was one of the world's "good guys".
Prayers to you, Cathy, and to the whole family from everyone in Salina, and from the fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta.
As the news is being passed around, everyone is saying such positive things about who he was, and the life he led. He demonstrated the walk up to the very end, and uplifted us all with his regular messages about the value of each moment.
Now, know that Team Bacon is out here still--- surrounding you all with our love and support.

I echo Debby's sentiments. Sid was one of my favorites during my time at ASU and one of the few who not only worked to stay in touch after my departure, but also someone I knew who was always up for talking KU hoops!
Godspeed, Sid. Know that you made a tremendous difference in the lives of many people.

Dear Cathy, Laura, Dan, Liz and all the extended family,
Words can't express the sadness John and I feel. Sid has set such an example for all of us as to how to deal with a terrible disease with grace, humor, gratitude for each day lived.
The four years I worked with him in the Dean's office were enriched by his presence, humor, and strong work ethic. I will treasure memories of his friendship throughout my life.
We keep you all in our thoughts.
With affection and sadness,
Debby and John Losse
