Sid, I recall only meeting you once, although I'm sure it was more times than that. We met at a coffee shop in Ahwatukee where Dan was working. Dan introduced us, your wife was there as well. I was overjoyed to meet you because I was given the opportunity to tell you what a remarkable young man Dan is. I was blessed to have Dan in two classes at DV, sophomore and senior years. He was then, and remains one of my very favorite students.

As we age and particularly when we face health challenges such as you have, we wonder about what impact we have made in our world. The one I'm sure of is that your legacy lives on through your son. You helped raise an amazing young man who through being himself will lead through compassion and reason. Thank you for your valuable contribution to our world.
My heart goes out to Dan and the rest of the family. Losing a loved one is never easy, but we must bear the grief and try to understand.

I am so sorry to hear of Sid's passing.

My heart is breaking for you and your loss of your devoted husband and father. Sid was a wonderful man who enriched our lives. I will always be grateful for his mentoring and all that he brought to my life. 

I am unable to attend the memorial service but will donate to his fund for each mile I run between 11July and Fechner day 2013.

Dear Bacon family, thinking about you today and wishing I could attend Sid's memorial service on Saturday. But I'll be in Yosemite-the perfect place to pay tribute to him and his love of nature. Sending you strength for the week ahead, and onward.

My hear is bleeding and is filled with sadness to learn Sid's passing.

It has been an honor for me to meet such an outstanding person. 

Sid will always have a place in my heart.

Your courageous fight, team Bacon, has been an inspiration to me and so many people.

There is a new angel in heaven, one more star in the sky, shining for you all.
