Prayer of the people
Steve Hammer
Response:  "Hear our prayer"

Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus and for all people according to their needs.  Each petition of the prayer will end with "Lord in your mercy" and fitting of Sid's profession, the congregation will respond with "hear our prayer."

Almighty God in Holy Baptism you have knit your people together into one communion of saints in the body of Christ.  Give to your whole church your light and your peace.

Give courage to all who mourn a sure and certain hope in your loving care, that casting all their sorrow on you, they may have strength for the days ahead.

In thanksgiving for the life you have shared with us in Sid, we call to mind the things that were imporant to him in his life.  We pray especially for those around the world who hunger and thirst and we ask you to give us generous hearts to share the bounty of this world with all.

We give thanks for the gift of teachers and the guest for knowledge and undersatnding.  Bless those who teach and those who learn, that together the world may be drawn into greater unity.

With thanksgiving we pray for those who are called to the work of healing.  For physicians and nurses and those who support the sick; for hospice workers who give comfort to the body and healing to the whole person.

For Team Bacon, and all his family and friends who accompanied him on this journey and who remember him with joy.

Grant to us who all still on our pilgrimage, and who walk as yet by faith, that where the world groans in grief, your Spirit may lead us to bear witness to your light and life.

God of grace, we give you thanks because by his death our savior Jesus Christ destroyed death, and by the power of his resurrection he opened the kingdom of heaven to all.  Make us certain that because he lives we shall live also, that neither death nor life, nor things present nor things to come, will be able to separate us from your love, in Christ Jesus our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

Imagine by John Lennon

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Closing Hymn
Sung by the congregation.
Accompaniment by Andy and Christian Kittelson

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace,
how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.

The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.

Amazing Grace,
how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
